Hello friends!! Hasn’t this taste of Spring been wonderful? I am loving these warmer days and the sun shining a little more. Warmer weather gets me pumped for the markets that will be happening around the area throughout Spring and Summer.
For today’s post I would like to tell you about a really cool shop in downtown Fort Wayne located on Wayne Street. Emiley’s Haute Cottage has a vast array of styles available. They offer antiques, primitives, industrial, repurposed, shabby chic, farmhouse, boutique clothing, jewelry and garden items.
Emiley Roman opened the shop in May of 2013 after the unfortunate event of losing her job. She started out in North Webster, Indiana but quickly realized she would get much more traffic in a larger city.
That’s when she was blessed to find the carriage house in downtown Fort Wayne. This building! It is the perfect setting and building for a shop like this.
Owning a shop like this has always been a dream of Emiley’s. Isn’t that the way life works sometimes? We’re reluctant to reach for our dreams when we’re comfortable. It takes God shaking things up a bit, getting us out of the comfortable and moving us into the unknown. That’s when we finally step back and evaluate where we are. Realizing, we’re stronger than we think, we take a leap of faith and pursue our dream.
Emiley has always loved decorating and finding great buys. She loves to meet new people and help them find the “perfect” piece. She also enjoys participating in markets/fairs. She’s currently gearing up for a couple markets happening in April and then in June. You can find information on both of these at her Facebook page Haute Gathering Markets.
Be sure to check out Emiley’s Haute Cottage. I promise you will not be disappointed. Here are just a few glimpses inside the shop….
