More About Me

Step into the coming year and you’ll find that the design world has gone back to basics.

Embracing everything that’s clean, natural, and heartfelt. This is all about creating spaces that feel grounded and calming.

Clean Lines and Earthy Tones

First off, designers and homeowners are buzzing about the joys of uncomplicated design. Think straight lines, wooden pillars that bring a bit of the outdoors inside, and furniture that doesn’t make you scratch your head trying to figure it out.

It’s about getting rid of the clutter and keeping things elegant and streamlined. Why? Because in a world that’s always on the go, having a home that looks like the very picture of serenity, is just what the doctor ordered.

Classic Colors with a Dash of Pizzazz

Now, let’s discuss color. We’re not talking about anything that’ll hurt your peepers here. This year, it’s all about those timeless, easy-on-the-eye shades – we’re looking at beige, white, and similar soft hues.

But let’s not forget about some contrast and pop; there’s room for a bit of razzle-dazzle. Picture a room dressed in classic colors with a few cheeky gold rimmed mirrors and shiny silver light fixtures. It’s the old ‘less is more’ approach, but with a wink.

Giving the Oldies a New Lease on Life

And what about that sad old armchair or the bookshelf that’s seen better days? They’re getting a makeover. Dusting off and jazzing up the old furniture is like the design world’s way of saying ‘reduce, reuse, regally revamp’.

It’s about hanging on to the stories and memories each piece holds while giving it a bit of spit and polish to start a new chapter. Why? Because we’re all a bit sentimental at heart, and sometimes, that old rocking chair isn’t just a seat, it’s a part of the family.

 It’s All in the Detail

Don’t forget about the knick-knacks. A few well-placed frames, trinkets, or even a vase can turn a space from ‘meh’ to ‘marvelous’. These aren’t just fillers; they’re ways to add layers to the tale your home tells.

Each little frame is a chance to showcase a memory, to start a conversation, or to just give your eyes something lovely to rest on. Why do we love these bits and pieces so much? Perhaps because it’s the personal touches like photo frames that really make a house a home.

Carpets & Curtains

Carpets and curtains aren’t just for comfort, they’re big players in the design game too. When it comes to what’s hot, think textures and eco-friendly materials.

We’re seeing a lot of love for natural fibers underfoot – like jute or sisal – giving that earthy vibe that’s all the rage. Patterns are pretty bold these days, too, think geometric or abstract to make that floor pop.

And curtains? Sheer and lightweight fabrics are in, letting in that soft, diffused light.

People are loving those neutral tones, but don’t be afraid to throw in a bit of color with some ombre or watercolor effects. It’s all about mixing up the smooth with the rough, and playing with transparency to get that trendy, layered look that feels fresh and modern.

Why We’re Keeping It Real

In short–it’s all about getting back to what’s real–simple designs, nature-inspired touches, and a bit of nostalgia.

Whether it’s in the steadfastness of a wooden pillar or the soft whisper of a beige throw pillow, the new year is calling for spaces that soothe the soul and remind us of the things that matter. It’s a nod to the past and a wink to the future, all rolled into one big, beautiful, tranquil tapestry.
