Hey guys! Just wanted to pop in here real quick and give you an update on what I’m currently working on. My brother just moved into a new office space and it is in need of some updating. Natalie and I have some awesome wall treatments planned for this project that I thought I would share with you.

The first one that has already been tackled and is almost completed is shiplap. Shocker!!! We shiplapped the first wall you see when you enter the lobby.

These pictures don’t do those countertops justice…they are REALLY ugly!! And they clash badly with the painting technique we used on this wall. So they must go. But rather than spend all that money to replace them, our plan is to paint over them. We’ll let you know what kind of paint we decided on and how it holds up in an upcoming post. For now, you can hop over here to this post to read about creating this shiplap look in your house.

As I said before, we have some fun wall treatments planned for this project. New ones (to us) that we have never tried before.

Wall Treatments:

This one is very simple and would fall in the board and batten category. It’s similar to the wall treatment I did in my boys’ bedroom, only horizontal instead of vertical. I love the clean lines and all of the white….

Then there’s this one…

I love how the boards don’t cover the entire wall. The white backdrop really accentuates the darker stain on this wall treatment. And that light!!! Yes please!

We have one more space that could definitely use a little more pizazz…the conference room. I’m not sure if we’ll go with this design. But I really like it…

My brother’s style lends itself more to modern-industrial and I really feel these layouts fit that bill. It’s been rewarding seeing this space take on a whole new look. A much more modern, up-to-date look. I’ll keep you posted as to our progress as we go.

Until next time,

Happy Building!!

How to Shiplap Using Underlayment-The Easy Way

While writing last week's post, I realized I don't have a good tutorial on how to shiplap using underlayment. As I shared last week, this is my favorite go-to when adding shiplap to any of my walls. I have tried other techniques, but this one is by far the easiest and...
