So, let’s jump right into it…
Top Decorating Trends of 2023
Kitchen Design Trends
When it comes to kitchen design, timelessness over trendiness will bring a lot less stress.
Having just completed a kitchen remodel at the beginning of last year, finding out that some of the changes I made were already on their way out, could have been very discouraging. But most people don’t have the time or the resources to renovate their kitchen every year. And even if they did, would they really want to? It’s not for the faint of heart.
In this Kitchen Design Trends post, while I touch on the latest trends, the focus is on how to keep them timeless.
In 2022, everyone was ripping out their upper cabinets and going to open shelving. Is this a trend that will continue into 2023?
What about all white kitchens and subway tile? These have been so popular for a while now. Are they an evergreen element of design or a thing of the past in 2023?

Interior Design Trends
Just like the kitchen, updating your home with every changing trend could get very costly. That’s why it’s important to stick to the one thing that remains the same–Style. Trends come and go so very quickly. But once again, focusing on changes that are timeless is key.
Accent walls have been a big mover and shaker in the DIY world, over the last couple years. Is this a trend that we’ll see in 2023? Or is that era over?
Find out what’s moving on and what’s new in interior design trends in 2023, in this post.
Home Decor Top Decorating Trends
Home decor trends are probably the easiest to implement in any space. They won’t break the bank in the way that a kitchen remodel will. Sometimes you just have to have that “in” piece of art or even small furniture piece. But since the price-point is smaller, even if the trend is only here for another 3-5 years, it’s worth it.
Abstract art, cozy textures and organic pottery were all the rage in 2022. Are they moving into 2023? Find out what to look for in home decor in 2023. This post, all about top decorating trends in home decor, has it all.
Design Color Trends
Have you seen the Pantone color for 2023? Whew! It’s bold. I don’t think we’ll see that color in my house this year. Haha! But I’m sure there will be people out there who will do amazing things with it!
Paint is the easiest and least expensive change you can ever make to your home interior. Like most trends, trending paint colors are here today, gone tomorrow. But thankfully, paint is cheap and so easy to change.
Given the Pantone color of the year, it looks like 2023 will be all about stepping out of our comfort zones and going BOLD. But which will it be? Bold, bright colors or warm, neutral, earthy tones?
Head over to this blog post, where I spill the tea and we talk about that bold Pantone color and what it means for 2023. Get all the details In this Top Interior Design Colors post.
Knowing all of the trends is great! Changes you can choose to implement in your home or pass on. But, here’s some things you can do that don’t require much, if any, shopping. For 17 interior design mistakes you can easily fix, check out this post. It’s one of my most popular when it comes to the design side of my blog.
I hope you found this post to be helpful and easy to implement.
When it comes to top decorating trends, it truly comes down to style. The commercial industry might be saying it’s “in” or it’s “out”. But their purpose is to drive sales. The real question that needs to be asked is: Does it still have an element of style within YOUR home?
The fact of the matter is, if you love it, keep it. But if you’re wanting to make some interior design changes in 2023, these are the patterns you’ll be seeing a lot.
As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Drop your questions and comments below. I promise to get back to you soon.
Let’s go beyond the design to build something beautiful together!
