Welcome 2018! New beginnings! New opportunities! New goals and upcoming accomplishments! Here we are. But first…I thought it would be fun to do a recap of 2017. It’s always nice to go back and see what all has been accomplished the previous year.
I started off the year with a brand new guest bathroom. After doing a complete farmhouse makeover to our guest bathroom at the end of 2016, it was nice to start with a major project already finished….
….Especially since my next project was going to be a major undertaking also…My brother’s office makeover. Starting with a few wall treatments…
And then this wall treatment…
And one more wall treatment….
My sister and I really enjoyed giving my brother’s office a new updated look. It was so fun to go out and shop for all the furniture and decor. Of course, what could be better than spending someone else’s money!?! We’re still adding some touches here and there. So stay tuned, for an upcoming post on the final reveal.
Continuing the recap of 2017…
A much smaller scale makeover, but still a lot of fun…was the Chalk and Display Wall I made for my nephew, Lucas (and his, coming-in-july!!!, brother or sister 🙂 ) ….
Do you have those built-ins that so many homes from the early 2000’s have? You would really like to change them up a bit and make them a little more modern, but aren’t sure of what to do? This was my dilemma in 2017 and another project tackled. You can read all about how I got this look in my Built-In Cabinets Makeover post…
And if you’ve read my blog for even a short time, you know my LOVE for sliding barn doors. So, of course, 2017 would not be complete without a barn door or two added to our home. This one in our family room is my favorite…
Check out my full tutorial on how to make your own sliding barn door. So simple to do and this tutorial makes it even easier.
We now have three of these in our home, with visions of many more. Which leads me to another makeover–Lauryn’s room…
I just realized I never did a final reveal post for Lauryn’s room and just kind of posted progress as it was made–so that will definitely be an upcoming post. But for now, you can check out the sliding door hardware I used and pictures of her room makeover here.
More recap of 2017…
Throughout the year, I refinished a number of furniture pieces…
I’ll list the links for those at the bottom of this post.
I get asked alot about my Vintage sign I made for my dining room. Another easy build. All you need is some old wood and a trip to Hobby Lobby. Check out the Vintage Sign post here.
And to finish up the recap of 2017…
Our biggest and most exciting news for 2017 was the launching of Repurpose Home–Modern Industrial Farmhouse Design. Find a picture you love on Pinterest and we’ll recreate that same look in your home. Have a custom furniture piece you want built? Farmhouse table? Sofa table? Coffee table? Barn door? ETC!! You name it we’ll build it. We love this stuff!!
Here are a few custom builds I have already made for Repurpose Home. I’ll be posting the plans for these builds in an upcoming post…
It was a blessing to be able to donate a couple pieces of furniture this year too. We love the school our kids attend and count it as such a blessing to be a part of such a great community of people. So, to be able to give back to the school and the Biblical teaching they instill in our kids everyday, was such a joy. I loved building this table to be auctioned off at the annual dinner/fundraiser….
People always ask me if I have another project coming up…to which I answer a resounding–YES!! My home is a constant makeover in action. And 2018 will be no exception. I already have several ideas floating in my head of all I want to makeover, recreate, build, refinish. And I can’t wait to get started!!
Here’s to an amazing 2018!!
Until next time,
Happy Building!!
