NEW FLOORING!!!
Welcome to week 7 of the One Room Challenge!
It is truly crunch time! And while I was hoping to share all of the magical details of the space with you this week, I’m not quite there yet! But, I did start the new flooring! It is absolutely stunning! Of course, when it’s up against this….
It doesn’t take much! Haha! But seriously, it’s amazing how much this new flooring has brightened the room! My Palka Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring arrived a few months ago, on a cold day in February…
And I couldn’t wait to share it with you! So, I broke into one of the several boxes that came…
And laid it out in front of my newly updated mudroom makeover….
After seeing this view, I was dying to get this flooring installed. But of course, flooring is the last thing to go down in a remodel, so the wait was long. But, oh so worth it!
Isn’t it amazing!? I’m so excited to be partnering with Flooret. They’re offering you 33% off any flooring sample. To really get a good feel for the style of flooring you are wanting, it is recommended that you order a full plank. So this discount, makes that a very affordable option. But the smaller samples aren’t exactly small at 12″, so you can definitely get a feel for the style with either option. And let me just tell you, these are not your everyday box store planks! These planks are the real deal! At 72″ long and 9″ wide, they truly make a statement. And they’re heavy! Which is a testament to their outstanding quality! Most LVP flooring is very thin with a wear layer of less than 12 mil. Flooret LVP has a wear layer of 40 mil! That’s a feature you don’t want to compromise on, especially in high-traffic areas like a kitchen or bathroom! This flooring can withstand a lot of everyday wear and tear. With 5 kids and 3 dogs, quality flooring was very important to me….

I started installing my new flooring in the widest part of the room…our bay window. This required a lot of angle cuts. But once I made my first cut, I made a guide to then quickly determine my remaining cuts. With the guide, I was done with this section in no time….
And ready to make my way out into the nook area….
I have to admit, I was VERY nervous about working my way into the kitchen. Especially under the range and refrigerator. Our range is not very heavy, so this area turned out to not be as difficult as I thought it would be….
Once I got that flooring laid, the Mr. and our son lifted the range onto the planks and then slid it into place. The verdict is still out on the refrigerator space. I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’ll keep you posted! But I’m happy to have that range finished!
My goal is to have all of the new flooring installed and baseboards back on by the end of this week. I think that’s do-able and am loving the progress I’ve already made. And with my new Cabinet Door Store shaker cabinets and beautiful Amerock Champagne Bronze hardware, I am in love…
I love how this looks leading up to the family room….
The only down side….now I want to install it throughout my entire main floor! Ahhhhh! It’s such a game changer! My parents loved it so much, they decided to change out their entire main floor and are now having Palka by Flooret installed. It’s going to look amazing!
With still more to come, that about wraps up week seven of the One Room Challenge.
