Here in the upper midwest, we got a brief taste of Fall last week and just like that we’re back to summer temps. But I won’t let this crazy midwest weather crush my Fall vibes. Actually, I’ll welcome it! Much more pleasant watering all of my mums in this weather than the cold, windy weather that we often experience this time of year. Speaking of mums, can a person have too many??

Truckful of mums

I’m kinda, sorta a sucker for them. 🙂 Let the planting begin….

I love to do a mixture of mums, cabbage, Indian corn, gourds, and white pumpkins in my window box. It’s so fun to change out the flowers and decor in this space with each passing season. (Check out this post to build your own flower box-super easy and cheap!!)….

Those ferns!! They love this space. Every year they thrive and grow so big up here on our front porch. I love how they make my Target find wreath pop…. (Target no longer has the Corn Husk Wreath shown here available, but this one is very similar). (Amazon Affiliate Link Included)

Last year we made a lot of changes to the exterior of our home. The best change I made was limewashing my brick. I literally got up on a Saturday morning, started the process and was showered and ready for a graduation party that evening! It was so quick and easy!! And FUN!! The before and after is amazing. I promise these two pictures are the same house…

I love how all of our mums stand out against the white brick background….

This “little” lady is going to be gorgeous when she blooms! When picking out mums, I like to choose the ones with LOTS of buds that haven’t bloomed yet!! I want them to bloom in my landscaping not the nursery’s.  🙂  ……
