Jumping in here to share a super easy, farmhouse style, picture frame tutorial with you. (That’s a mouthful. 🙂 )These make great gifts for the holidays, birthdays, going away parties…..all occasions!
It’s easy to make a few picture frames all in one sitting. They really are that easy…
HOW TO MAKE A SUPER EASY, FARMHOUSE STYLE, PICTURE FRAME:
Supplies needed:
- 2-1×6 boards (cut to 18″ long)
- 2- 1 1/4″ boards (cut to the width of the project)
- small nails
- hammer
- Gorilla glue
- metal clip
- metal name plate
- sandpaper
- sharpie
- cardstock
- roping
- paint
- paintbrush
Assembly:
Step one:
Line up both 1×6’s side-by-side…
Step two:
Nail both 1 1/4″ strips width-wise to 1×6’s…top board = 1 1/2″ from top; bottom board = 1 1/2″ from bottom. This will hold your 1×6’s together, so make sure you nail down both ends and in the middle. 1×6’s should be secure, once smaller strips are nailed down…
Step three:
Paint frame (tops, sides and front). I dry-brushed and used a little sandpaper on mine to give it more of a worn look. But it’s really all about personal preference and the look you like. 🙂 Allow it to dry. (Or use a blow-dryer if you are in a hurry)…
Step four:
Attach roping to back using super-glue or nails…
Step five:
Add metal clip and name plate using super glue. Allow glue to dry…
Step six:
Add card stock to name plate and clip on your 8×10 photo…
So simple!!!
Now your picture frame is ready to hang…To give my frame more of a finished look, I added a pretty little decorative knob to the wall and hung my roping on it. I found this one at Target…
Perfect!!
These frames are great for any wall in your home and also make great gifts for teachers, family, friends, etc. So quick and easy to make. And with your personal touch, they are sure to be a hit!
