Want to get that beautiful textured vase pottery look without spending a dime? This DIY is hands-down the easiest DIY you’ll ever do! And more than likely you have everything you need right at your fingertips.
First gather up any old vases, lamps, large bowls you’ve tucked away for a possible future DIY project. I just went around my house and grabbed things off my shelves that I wanted to give that textured vase look to. Here’s a look at a couple of the things I grabbed…
EASY DIY TEXTURED VASE WITH BAKING SODA AND PAINT
Materials Needed:
Paint
Baking Soda
Paintbrush
Spoon or stir stick
No need to go out and buy paint but rather shop your paint stash. We all have a paint section somewhere in our house, right? Grab your favorite color and let’s get started.
Pour some of your paint into a styrofoam bowl and add baking soda. You really can’t add too much. Keep adding baking soda and stirring until it gets to a thick pudding-like texture….
Once it’s at a texture you like, start painting. You’ll want to paint it on thick, not really caring about your brush strokes going in one uniform direction. The more random the better….
When finished, let it sit to dry….
Once dry, you’ll have a beautiful textured vase. Or possibly, if you’re like me and grab all the things, you’ll have a whole plethora of textured vases and lamps. 🙂
I absolutely love how they all turned out, but this one is my favorite!
A textured vase this size would cost a fortune to buy. I love that I was able to repurpose it and give it that pottery look I was wanting….
Was I right? Easiest DIY ever?? Be sure to check back next week when I share another fun and easy DIY–my Anthropologie Mirror Dupe. 🙂
