One of the best updates we made to the exterior of our home was transforming our current garage doors to carriage doors. I can’t tell you the number of compliments we have gotten since making this change 8 years ago. Not only did it step up our curb appeal, but this timeless change has transitioned well through all of our home’s exterior upgrades. Oh, how far our exterior colors have come. Not missing this orange at all…..
Notice I said transitioning to carriage doors was ONE of the best updates we made? Changing the paint colors and limewashing the brick are at the top of that list too.
Along with a new front door…
But let’s get back to the garage doors. People are always amazed when I tell them that these windows are not real! Can you tell? Nope, not real. Super easy to install and much cheaper than a brand new garage door, you can get the same look here. Oh! And the trim on them can be easily painted too…..(Amazon Affiliate Links Included) (Here’s another faux window option with an amazing price).
I ordered 4 for my large garage door and 2 for my 3rd bay. (Keep in mind you get two windows per kit. So I purchased three kits: 2 kits for my large garage door and one kit for my smaller garage door).
To complete your carriage doors look, you’ll want to attach this hardware. One package has all you need for one garage door. Here’s a look at the placing I chose for mine…. (Amazon Affiliate Links Included)
We easily got the look of brand new carriage doors without spending thousands of dollars. And 8 years later, they look as good as new! That to me is a win-win!
PIN IT FOR LATER….
