Can you believe Christmas is right there…like knocking at our door? Where did December go? It has definitely been a crazy-busy month, as December tends to be. I wanted to jump in here (before all the decorations are put away and the Christmas music stops) and share my Christmas is Here-Farmhouse Style Holiday Home Tour with you.
If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably had an overload of Christmas decor pictures from my home and could probably guide the tour on your own. But for those of you, who don’t follow me on Instagram, you probably should...no just kidding. Well, not really. 🙂
So let’s just jump right into this…
Welcome to my home…
Our home is very much an open-concept plan. So, when you enter through the front door, you pretty much see it all. But let’s start, off to the right from the foyer, in the dining room…
I love centerpieces, or as they’re being touted all over social media this year, tablescapes, that are substantial. Last year I placed a large galvanized tub on my farm table and decorated around and in it. (You can check out last year’s Holiday Home Tour here.)
This year, I found these large milk jugs (if that’s what you would call them) at Hobby Lobby and filled 2 of them with fresh greenery and cotton sprigs. Leaving the middle one empty, so as not to overwhelm the space and give more symmetry…
The very simple trees are also a Hobby Lobby find…
I grounded all of the arrangement with a nice soft faux-fur blanket from Target. My kids can’t wait to get this thing off the table and snuggled up with them on the couch. They all love fuzzy blankets and can’t quite understand why the dining room table gets the softest blanket in the house. It’s all about the look, kidlings! 🙂
I love using fresh garland and real foliage from right outside my house. This year, I gathered sticks from the yard and spray painted them white to add to my different arrangements…
Moving on into the family room, just off the dining room….
My favorite little area in my house right now is right here…
I love my Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Ty thinks it’s a sad little Christmas tree, but it has so much character. This was a Hearth and Hand find from Target, part of the Magnolia Collection. The ornaments are from the same collection too. I added the blanket skirt around it to give it a little more warmth and down-to-earth feel. Again, another blanket my kiddos had to give up. 🙂
And because these guys are always getting in my pictures, I made him pose for this one…
And this one. The fat “ittle” pup can’t sit for very long…
The oversize barn door in the backdrop is a perfect place to display a simple wreath…
And moving down just a bit, to the fireplace. Once again, the trees are from Hobby Lobby. I wasn’t wild about my fresh garland on the mantle and felt like it needed a little more uuummmppphhhh. So I placed my fake garland on the mantle first and added sprigs of fresh greenery, making it much fuller and more substantial. And of course, a few more spray-painted sticks…
A pretty simple arrangement on the coffee table…
And yet another fur-baby who’s always getting in the way of my photo shoots….
We went a little less extravagant this year with our Christmas trees. If you remember, last year I had 3 Christmas trees in this space…
This year, I wanted to get my tree up a little earlier and therefore, wasn’t able to put up a real tree. I went very simple on our Christmas tree this year. Adding sticks at the top and a few painted sticks throughout. Along with some simple bulbs, burlap ribbon and a furry skirt to finish off the bottom.
I had every intention of hanging a wreath between each window, but time got away from me and that never happened. And now with just a few days before Christmas…ya, not likely. 🙂
And the stockings were hung on the mantle with care…
Yet another find from Target…Hearth and Hand stockings. Love this new line from Magnolia!
I love the coziness of this room at night…
And especially, now that we have all of the kiddos home, my heart is full and we are ready for Christmas…
From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!
Until next time,
Happy Building!
